WE GROW, PROCESS, AND SELL THE BEST YAUPON ON EARTH!
Co-founders Bryon and Kyle White reintroduced the Yaupon Holly into commerce in 2012, for the first time in over 100 years. We discovered how delicious and stimulating the Yaupon was when prepared as an herbal tea, but we couldn't buy it anywhere. We decided to fix that, and in 2012 we co-founded Yaupon Asi Tea, which became the first provider of Yaupon. In 2013, we became the first processor, handler, and grower of Yaupon to adhere to the strictest standard in the land: the USDA Organic Certification. By 2014, our Yaupon fields in Volusia County, Florida had grown to fifty acres. Our Yaupon was sold in twenty states, Canada, and the UK, in over 180 retail locations. Yaupon was back, and in a big way! Today, Yaupon is a growing American agribusiness with a bright future, and we've changed our branding and business model to serve you better. Yaupon Brothers maintains partnerships with Florida farmers to cultivate Yaupon, and we grow our shade-grown Yaupon on our 12-acre farm in Volusia County, Florida.
It's an understatement to say that Yaupon has a beautiful and complex history in the United States. Before any Europeans made their way over the pond; before Rome, and Jesus, and even before Babylon and ancient Egypt, Yaupon was being consumed by Florida's indigenous people. In fact, archeological records show that Yaupon has been consumed in Florida for at least 10,000 years. It's also been found thousands of miles outside of its native range, suggesting that it was the subject of a sophisticated trade network. Native Americans went through a lot of trouble to get their daily dose of Yaupon, and the reasons for this are simple. Yaupon is delicious, healthy, and stimulating. It is North America's only native caffeinated plant, and it's packed full of healthy antioxidants. A close relative to the Yerba Mate and Guayusa, Yaupon is America's answer to coffee and tea. Quite possibly the perfect beverage for our culture and time.
At Yaupon Brothers, we imagine a new industry centered around Yaupon. In which a native and fully sustainable raw material is grown in a natural setting, free from chemicals and in harmony with the environment. With your help, we can make it happen. And we can build a bright and sunshine-y future with a new Yaupon industry in America. Give our teas a try, and we're sure you'll be hooked.
Here's to your health!
All our best,
Bryon & Kyle White
